About Me

Rocky is a Producer, Writer, and Actress based out of NYC.

I began producing in 2015 with my inaugural project The Official Code, working out of BRIC Arts in Brooklyn. It was here that I immersed myself in every aspect of the filmmaking process—learning what it truly takes to bring a project from concept to completion. Since then, I’ve earned seven producer credits, with two additional projects currently in pre-production. My journey in the industry began with Acting in 2013, which provided me with a deep, firsthand understanding of filmmaking from both sides of the camera.

In 2022, I was awarded a grant from Dolby Labs to produce a deeply personal short film about growing up with my younger brother, who has Down Syndrome. I served as Producer, Creative Producer, Co-Writer, and Lead Actress. The film premiered at AMC on the Upper West Side and at the Academy's Ted Mann Theater in Los Angeles. I’ve been developing the feature-length version of this story since 2014 and was thrilled to advance to the second round of the Sundance Labs.

I also had the opportunity to collaborate with Latham Thomas on the Love Delivered series, producing video interviews with mothers about their birthing journeys and the impact of having a doula.

My earlier work on The Official Code tackled a range of provocative topics including abortion, sexual literacy, race, wealth disparities, style, and body autonomy. Another short film I produced, Up & Down, earned Honorable Mention at Cannes Shorts. This was shot in the continuous style, with no cuts. This was definitely a "pinch me" moment.

Currently, I’m developing five narrative writing projects and freelancing with Melanin Factory, a beauty platform where I spotlight emerging BIPOC brands and explore conscious commentary on the beauty industry. It’s a vibrant blend of culture, storytelling, and innovation—just how I like it.

Creating is more than what I do—it’s who I am. And I feel incredibly grateful to keep doing what I love.

Warmly,

Rocky
